Open Position:
The Health Quality Improvement Specialist (QIS) assists the Manager of Quality Improvement and Corporate Compliance. A main priority is to prepare reports to regulatory agencies. Other functions include working with the Manager of Quality Improvement and Corporate Compliance to develop and implement a clinical performance improvement program that aligns with strategic initiatives of the organization and meets or exceeds all Federal, State, and local health laws, regulations, codes, and accreditation standards. The QIS helps monitor services provided by the department, helps identify opportunities for improvement in customer service and efficiency. The QIS also engages in risk management and corporate compliance oversight, consistent with the requirements of the hospital-wide Performance Improvement Program and state and federal regulations. Reporting to the Manager of Quality Improvement and Corporate Compliance, the QIS participates, as needed, in the development and implementation of all department strategic and operational initiatives. The QIS provides superior customer service by modeling the Brand Promise and Core Values.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with investigation, tracking and status of reportable incidents and complaints.
Conduct special reviews as needed.
Monitors staff compliance with medical record requirements and regulatory requirements.
Collect adequate information on sentinel events, contact clinicians, conduct investigations when necessary, and provide education and assistance to staff regarding reportable incidents.
Offers guidance, education, and feedback to staff regarding performance improvement efforts, processes and techniques. Works with treatment teams to develop and implement corrective actions.
