Bilingual Refugee Case Worker - $22/hr

Job Title: Refugee Caseworker
Pay Rate: $22/hour

About the Role: As a Caseworker, you'll be instrumental in enrolling eligible clients into the Refugee Cash Assistance program. Your responsibilities will include verifying eligibility, conducting orientations, disbursing payments, maintaining accurate case files, and ensuring compliance with program guidelines. This role plays a crucial part in supporting RCA clients and ensuring the smooth operation of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Enroll refugees, asylees, and other eligible populations into the RCA program.
  2. Screen walk-in clients for eligibility and provide referrals to relevant refugee service programs as needed.
  3. Conduct comprehensive orientations for newly arrived clients.
  4. Maintain meticulous case files and notes for RCA clients in accordance with program guidelines.
  5. Disburse monthly RCA payments according to program guidelines and family size.
  6. Update the Refugee Management System and Client Track database regularly with accurate client information.
  7. Maintain regular communication with enrolled clients to ensure compliance with program requirements.
  8. Collaborate with the Employment team to collect compliance data for clients on a monthly basis.
  9. Facilitate check pick-up for eligible clients, ensuring adherence to program guidelines before releasing payments.
  10. Organize and file monthly assistance checks in clients' RCA case files, updating payment data in Client Track.
  11. Conduct periodic case reviews with the RCA coordinator and program manager to ensure contract compliance and quality control.
  12. Report any compliance issues with RCA enrollments to the program manager and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  13. Prepare necessary materials to monitor RCA program compliance.
  14. Stay updated on RCA compliance guidelines and guidance from relevant authorities.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Preferred: One year of relevant experience in social services, particularly in refugee services or case management.
  • Strong independent judgment and coordination skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is essential.
  • Fluency in English required; fluency in one of the main refugee languages (especially Spanish, Dari, Pashto, Arabic, or Kiswahili) preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff, clients, and volunteers.
  • Flexibility to work some weekends as needed.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance as per legal requirements.
