Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Summary
A well-established university based healthcare facility in Kansas is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its financial operations. This key leadership role oversees financial administration, ensuring the organization’s fiscal health and compliance with regulatory standards while supporting its strategic growth and operational goals.
As a member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will collaborate with senior leaders to provide financial insights, manage resources effectively, and drive initiatives that support the facility's mission to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight: Establish and maintain internal controls to protect assets and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Strategic Planning: Partner with the executive team to align financial strategies with organizational objectives and support long-term success.
- Budget Development: Create and manage annual operating and capital budgets that reflect organizational priorities and financial health.
- Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and enhanced financial performance.
- Revenue Cycle Management: Oversee revenue cycle processes to maintain consistent cash flow and optimize billing efficiency.
- Contract Negotiation: Work with leadership to negotiate and manage payer contracts for maximum benefit.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, including state, federal, and accrediting body standards.
- Leadership & Team Building: Develop, mentor, and oversee finance department staff, promoting accountability and excellence.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Present financial updates and reports to governing boards, medical staff, and other key stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline (preferred).
- CPA certification (preferred).
Experience:
- Proven success as a CFO in a healthcare organization is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of healthcare financial management, including reimbursement systems and revenue cycle operations.
- Experience in for-profit healthcare systems or joint ventures is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with integrated health delivery systems is highly desirable.
