Position Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for all financial and administrative operations, including accounting, reporting, credit control, risk management, banking relationships, information technology, billing, and financial planning and analysis. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will help shape and execute the company’s financial strategy to support growth and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and profitability.
  • Risk Management: Analyze the organization’s monetary and derivative assets and liabilities to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Investment Decisions: Make strategic investment decisions by evaluating cash flow and liquidity risks.
  • Financial Planning: Drive financial planning processes, ensuring adequate cash flow for operations and growth.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of reliable and timely financial statements and forecasts.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise a team of 4 direct reports and oversee finance operations for 65 employee-owners.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions: Identify and manage investment opportunities, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Budgeting: Lead efforts to optimize budgets, increase profitability, and reduce costs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a CFO, finance officer, or a similar executive role.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate financial and risk management practices.
  • Expertise in data analysis and forecasting.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and financial management software.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong command of numbers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA).
  • Relevant experience in the petroleum or energy commodities industry.
  • Experience with financial derivatives and hedging strategies.
  • Background in managing information technology operations.
