Overview:
A Fortune 500 company in Montgomery, Alabama, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Human Resources Manager to lead our Human Resources Department. This role is a key leadership position responsible for driving HR practices and ensuring the department aligns with the organization’s overall business strategy. The Senior HR Manager will oversee all HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, training and development, compliance, talent acquisition, compensation, and benefits. Working closely with the ER/HR Manager, this position ensures seamless day-to-day operations while promoting a positive and legally compliant workplace environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Act as a liaison between management and employees, addressing concerns, grievances, and demands to maintain a cohesive workplace environment.
Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies, systems, and procedures to support organizational goals.
Lead initiatives to enhance employee morale, engagement, and satisfaction.
Manage and resolve complex employee relations matters, conducting thorough and objective investigations when necessary.
Stay updated on employment laws and regulations, ensuring organizational compliance and minimizing legal risks.
Identify and address training needs through job analysis, career paths, and performance reviews in collaboration with department leaders.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver training materials and performance management programs to clarify job expectations and responsibilities.
Evaluate and recommend competitive compensation and benefits packages to attract and retain top talent.
Monitor trends in compensation and benefits, proposing programs that align with industry standards.
Create, update, and enforce employee handbooks and policies to ensure compliance with employment laws.
Oversee leave of absence and workers' compensation cases, ensuring smooth processes.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
Deep knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and regulatory compliance.
Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is highly desirable.
Proficiency with HRIS systems and related software tools.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
Exceptional multitasking and time management skills.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of direct HR experience.
