Our medical practice focusing on advanced dermatological care, aesthetic treatments, and vein-related is seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Office Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential to maintaining a welcoming environment for our patients and ensuring the smooth operation of our office. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced medical setting.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive and professional first impression.
- Answer and direct phone calls efficiently, providing exceptional customer service to all inquiries.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of office resources.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional office environment.
- Assist with accounts receivable tasks, including billing for private, self-pay, insurance, and Medicare.
- Process payments and resolve patient billing inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support the use and maintenance of the EMA electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring accurate patient information and compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure patient records and billing are current and accurate.
- Handle insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, and claims submissions as needed.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and managing correspondence.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with accounts receivable, medical billing (including private, self-pay, insurance, and Medicare).
- Proficiency with EMA electronic health record (EHR) system (or similar systems).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in medical administration is a plus.
