Superintendent - Construction

Dublin, OH
Superintendent – Podium and Wood Frame
Location: Dublin, OH (Travel as needed)
Compensation: $80K-$110K (Dependent on experience and open for discussion)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent with a strong background in podium and wood-frame construction to oversee field operations on multi-family and commercial projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, field coordination, scheduling expertise, and knowledge of construction best practices.

The Superintendent will work closely with the Project Manager to oversee all aspects of field operations, including subcontractor management, scheduling, cost tracking, and safety enforcement. This position requires travel as needed to job sites to ensure proper execution and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Preconstruction Phase
Assist in the development of project schedules, logistics plans, and phasing strategies.
Conduct constructability reviews to identify and resolve potential issues before construction begins.
Assist in the development of bid packages and ensure accurate scopes of work.
Participate in the bid, award, and procurement process for subcontractors and suppliers.

Construction Phase
Lead and coordinate all daily field activities to ensure a safe and efficient job site.
Manage subcontractors to ensure timely execution of project scope.
Implement project schedules and adjust workflows as necessary to meet deadlines.
Ensure quality control measures are followed, including conducting punch list walkthroughs.
Identify and resolve field issues proactively, ensuring minimal project disruption.
Oversee material tracking and procurement, ensuring alignment with project design and timelines.
Maintain coordination drawings and Bluebeam documentation, ensuring accuracy and field availability.
Produce daily reports, track subcontractor progress, and ensure proper documentation filing.
Participate in OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings and lead Foreman meetings to ensure alignment on project goals.
Maintain accurate as-built drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
Enforce safety policies and procedures on-site to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
Manage permits, inspections, and code compliance, ensuring seamless approvals.
Understand contractual obligations for owners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Mentor and train Field Engineers and Assistant Superintendents, ensuring career growth and project success.

Project Closeout
Track and complete contractor closeout checklists, ensuring all necessary documents and approvals are received.
Schedule and coordinate life safety inspections and building occupancy certifications.
Collect and submit operation manuals, warranties, and final as-built drawings to the project owner.
Ensure owner training sessions on building systems and maintenance are conducted.
Process final change orders and pay applications, ensuring all financial closeout tasks are completed.

Qualifications
5+ years of experience in commercial, podium, and wood-frame construction.
Proven experience managing field operations on multi-family, mixed-use, or commercial projects.
Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
Proficiency in Bluebeam for document review and coordination.
Experience with material lead time tracking and procurement coordination.
Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and vendors effectively.
Strong understanding of permits, inspections, and code compliance.
Ability to resolve field issues proactively while maintaining project momentum.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage teams and ensure project success.
Willingness to travel as needed for job site visits.

Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 10 or 30-hour Construction Certification.
CPR and First Aid Certification.
Strong familiarity with Procore or similar project management software.
Previous experience mentoring or training junior field staff.
