Job Type: Full-Time  - $110,000

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a diverse team and oversee global accounting operations within a manufacturing and corporate environment. This role is responsible for financial reporting, tax compliance across the U.S. and Canada, internal controls, and managing the monthly and annual close process. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of accounting principles, strong leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to continuous improvement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including month-end and year-end processes, general ledger maintenance, revenue and expense analysis

  • Lead financial close activities and ensure accurate and timely reporting

  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls and metrics to ensure compliance with financial laws and company guidelines

  • Serve as the point of contact for tax-related matters and coordinate outsourced tax preparation

  • Prepare tax documentation for regulatory authorities in the U.S. and Canada

  • Maintain relationships with external partners including tax firms, auditors, and insurance providers

  • Support and manage audit preparation and interactions with external auditors and government agencies

  • Supervise and mentor a team of direct reports, conducting regular check-ins and supporting career development

  • Assist in strategic tax planning and organizational process improvement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

  • 5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience preferred

  • CPA or CMA certification is highly beneficial but not required

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance standards

  • Experience in both manufacturing and corporate accounting environments

  • Proficient in managing audits, internal controls, and tax filings

  • Ability to analyze data, make informed decisions, and manage competing priorities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team

  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Self-motivated with a solution-oriented mindset and collaborative working style
