Third-Party Resilience/Contingency/Business Continuity Senior Consultant
Pay: $70+ / Hr + benefits

Location: 100% Remote
Time Zone Support: Must be able to support stakeholders across PT, CT, and ET time zones
Schedule: Typical hours are 8am – 5pm, with flexibility to accommodate meetings across time zones
A Managed Care Organization is seeking a highly experienced Third-Party Resilience/Contingency/Business Continuity Senior Consultant to join its Physical Security and Continuity Services team. Reporting to the Director of Third-Party Resilience (TPR), this senior-level consultant will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive contingency plans to ensure organizational preparedness for disruptions involving third-party vendors.
This is a strategic and collaborative role, requiring coordination with senior leadership—including C-Level Executives, SVPs, and VPs—to implement robust third-party continuity frameworks and initiatives.
Develop and implement over 20 detailed contingency plans to address potential third-party vendor unavailability.
Lead strategic workshops with executive-level stakeholders to create contingency strategies covering People, Process, and Technology.
Collaborate with business units to document internal and external contingency scenarios.
Define dependencies and timelines, particularly for strategies requiring RFPs or contractual agreements.
Ensure contingency plans are actionable and thorough, including:
Recovery teams and roles
Activation and notification protocols
Communication procedures for impacted members and providers (as applicable)
Compliance and regulatory considerations
Assumptions, maintenance schedules, and related documentation
Conduct tabletop exercises and micro-simulations to test and refine plans.
Track outcomes and drive resolution of any gaps or issues identified.
Provide regular reporting on progress, risks, and escalations.
10+ years of experience in Third-Party Resilience, Business Continuity, or Contingency Planning.
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing enterprise-level contingency plans.
Experience collaborating directly with C-Suite, SVPs, and VPs.
Strong communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to independently lead initiatives and function as a trusted advisor to leadership.
One or more of the following certifications:
Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP)
Certified Business Continuity Manager (CBCM)
Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
Familiarity with contingency frameworks in the managed care industry (Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace).
Background in healthcare or health plan operations.
Additional healthcare continuity certifications (AHPCP, CHPCP) are a plus.
