Position Overview:
A leading manufacturer in the plastics and film extrusion industry is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Procurement to lead sourcing, vendor relations, and procurement initiatives. This role is essential to supporting the company's rapid growth and sustainability initiatives, while enhancing organizational efficiency and delivering strong business value. The Director will oversee the Procurement team, collaborate with business leaders, and drive market-informed procurement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and continuously improve procurement policies, procedures, and programs, focusing on enhancing organizational value and efficiency.

Develop and execute sourcing and vendor management strategies aligned with the organization’s growth and sustainability goals.

Lead and develop a high-performing Procurement team to support a growing and diverse product portfolio.

Design, monitor, and improve departmental processes with a focus on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and continuous improvement activities.

Collaborate with business units and functional leaders to develop procurement strategies for key materials, leveraging global and regional market expertise.

Analyze market conditions and cost drivers, translating insights into actionable business planning to support strengths, address weaknesses, and capitalize on opportunities.

Develop and communicate a strategic procurement business plan with long-term departmental goals.

Act as a liaison and project leader for cross-functional initiatives and critical company projects.

Analyze market trends (specifically polymers and resin cost drivers) to identify financial and supply risks, and develop proactive solutions.

Optimize resin purchases by leveraging strategic spend and advanced pricing methodologies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.

15+ years of procurement or related experience, with a strong background in manufacturing.

Minimum 5 years in a leadership role, successfully managing procurement teams and projects.

Knowledge and experience in film extrusion and/or plastics manufacturing required.

Proven track record as a results-oriented, metrics-driven leader with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration, project leadership, and talent development.

Ability to build strong relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data for strategic decision-making.

Proficient with procurement and business software; strong computer skills required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
