Compensation: $26.00 – $28.00/hour
Employment Type: Temporary (90 days) with potential for temp-to-perm based on business need

Position Summary:
A managed care organization is seeking a culturally competent, service-oriented Member Advocate Representative to provide front-line support to Medicaid members and the local community in Gallup, New Mexico. This role is especially critical in McKinley County and among the Navajo/Diné speaking population. The position supports outreach, member services, and compliance-related activities to promote enrollment growth and continuity of care.
This is a temporary role covering a 90-day period with the potential for extension or permanent placement based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and support members and visitors at the Help Center location
Assist members with ID card requests and general inquiries
Guide members through completion of Health Risk Assessments (HRAs), with a focus on supporting non-English speakers—Navajo/Diné language skills preferred
Support Transition of Care (TOC) activities to meet contractual obligations for members moving between care settings
Assist with Medicaid eligibility applications and redeterminations, especially for Navajo/Diné-speaking members
Represent the organization at community outreach events and assist with lead generation and relationship-building
Serve as a liaison to broker agents in McKinley County and Northwest New Mexico
Ensure member needs are met with empathy, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity
Impact Metrics:
Maintain lead conversion rates of 85% or higher
Contribute to Medicaid membership growth through application support
Support compliance with TOC and redetermination outreach efforts
Qualifications:
1–2 years of experience in Medicaid outreach or member services
(or lived experience as a Medicaid recipient or close family member)
Certified Community Health Worker (CHW) – preferred
Presumptive Eligibility Determiner (PED) – preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer use; must be able to operate dual monitors and docking station
Key Competencies:
Strong verbal and written communication; Navajo/Diné language skills highly preferred
Demonstrated cultural competence with Navajo communities
Ability to support Medicaid eligibility processes and navigate compliance requirements
Empathy, compassion, and strong interpersonal skills
Experience representing healthcare organizations in community settings
Organized, team-oriented, and self-motivated
