We are proud to represent a well-established CNC Machine Tool Builder in their search for a CNC Field Service Technician to support customers across the Midwest region (IL/MI/OH/IN). This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled technician to join a growing team that values precision, customer service, and technical expertise.

Position: CNC Field Service Technician
Region: Midwest (IL, MI, OH, IN)
Salary: Up to $100K + Sign-On or Referral Bonus
Travel: Up to 100% within territory

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer locations to install, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools and related systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.

  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and documentation for diagnosis and repair.

  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding status, timelines, and technical updates.

  • Submit timely and accurate service reports and documentation.

  • Maintain professional relationships with customers, vendors, and team members.

  • Stay up to date on new products, tools, and technologies through ongoing training.

  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability in all service-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical school training preferred.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with CNC machinery service and repair.

  • Skilled with precision measurement tools (dial indicators, micrometers, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of rotating machinery, spindles, and precision bearing assemblies.

  • Working knowledge of CNC controls, including troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic schematics.

  • High-level diagnostic and troubleshooting ability with strong attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard service reporting tools.

  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be comfortable with extensive travel.

  • Professional demeanor and the ability to work independently under pressure.
