Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000 per year

About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Transportation/Logistics Manager for a growing company based in the food distribution sector. This leadership role is ideal for candidates with 5 to 7 years of experience overseeing supply chain operations, with a focus on direct-to-consumer logistics, vendor performance, and KPI-driven outcomes. Candidates with experience in food distribution are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Oversight
Lead the direct-to-consumer logistics supply chain strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Drive continuous improvements across logistics, inventory management, and fulfillment operations
Identify cost-saving initiatives and opportunities to enhance supply chain performance and flexibility
Implement scalable growth strategies, process improvements, and technology enhancements
Operational Management
Oversee all transportation functions, including both internal fleets and third-party carriers
Monitor compliance with safety, DOT regulations, and carrier performance standards
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and rate negotiations
Track and report key metrics such as cost per carton, delivery timeliness, inventory accuracy, and freight performance
Supervise invoice management in collaboration with third-party payment systems
Team Leadership
Manage teams across logistics, warehousing, and distribution functions
Set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and foster a high-accountability environment
Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, IT, and planning departments
Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence
Qualifications
5 to 7 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or distribution leadership roles
Strong background in transportation and warehouse operations
Experience in food distribution is strongly preferred
Proven success in managing vendor relationships, cost control, and KPI-based reporting
Solid knowledge of inventory systems, logistics technology, and compliance standards
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic improvements
