Job Title: Climber / Tree Crew Lead (Hilliard, OH)

Overview
Ahlum & Arbor is seeking skilled and motivated Climbers to join our professional tree care team in Hilliard. The primary need is for experienced climbers with the ability to perform all aspects of tree care safely and efficiently, with the potential to grow into a Tree Crew Lead role. Candidates must be reliable, safety-minded, and committed to developing their arboriculture skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform tree climbing, pruning, cabling, and removals using ropes, harnesses, and climbing gear

• Operate chainsaws, chippers, and other tree care equipment in compliance with safety standards

• Support ground operations including rigging, debris removal, and equipment setup

• Work with the crew to complete residential and commercial jobs in a safe, efficient, and professional manner

• Assist with training and mentoring crew members as skills advance toward a leadership role

• Maintain a safe, drug-free, and smoke-free work environment (no smoking or vaping permitted on company or client property)

Requirements

• Proven climbing ability and comfort working at heights

• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record (CDL strongly preferred but not required)

• ISA Certified Arborist credential strongly preferred but not required

• Ability and willingness to continue learning and advancing technical skills

• Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in varying weather conditions

• Strong teamwork, communication, and safety-first mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading or assisting with tree care crews

• CDL driver’s license (Class A or B)

• ISA Certified Arborist or equivalent credentials
