Job Title: HR Generalist – Remote
Location: Remote - Ohio Based (EST time Zone required)
Overview
A mid-sized healthcare organization is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Generalist to join its Human Resources team. This position will play a key role in supporting employees and managers across the organization, with a primary focus on employee relations, benefits administration, and onboarding. The HR Generalist will serve as a trusted resource for staff, helping ensure compliance with policies and fostering a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a first point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance, coaching, and support to managers and employees.
Conduct investigations into workplace concerns and recommend appropriate solutions in alignment with company policies and employment law.
Oversee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee questions related to health, dental, vision, and other plans.
Manage onboarding processes for new hires, including offer letters, background checks, orientation scheduling, and employee paperwork.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within HR systems.
Partner with payroll to ensure benefit deductions and employment changes are processed correctly.
Support HR compliance with federal and state regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and EEO requirements.
Assist in the development and delivery of HR communications, training materials, and policy updates.
Participate in projects aimed at improving HR processes, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role, preferably within healthcare or a highly regulated industry.
Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and benefits administration.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
Experience managing employee relations cases, conducting investigations, and supporting managers through performance management.
Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while staying connected to the HR team and organizational priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
Experience supporting remote or multi-state workforces.
Prior experience with healthcare benefits or large group plans.
