Position Overview
An industry-leading food manufacturing company is seeking an accomplished Plant Manager to lead operations at its high-volume production and packaging facility in Wausau, Wisconsin. With over 500 employees, this location plays a critical role in the company’s nationwide operations and is recognized for its world-class quality standards and innovative processing systems.
The Plant Manager will oversee all plant functions, driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and employee engagement. This individual will serve as a key member of the company’s leadership team, influencing long-term strategic planning and ensuring the plant remains a benchmark for safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide overall leadership for a large-scale food manufacturing and packaging facility.
• Oversee daily plant operations including production, maintenance, quality assurance, and safety.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimize throughput and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop management and hourly teams to strengthen performance and retention.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, regulatory standards, and food safety requirements.
• Manage budgets, capital projects, and resource allocation to achieve operational goals.
• Foster a positive, high-performance work culture focused on teamwork and accountability.
• Participate in strategic planning and long-term plant development initiatives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a high-speed food manufacturing environment.
• Proven success implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices.
• Strong understanding of production metrics, process optimization, and workforce management.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large teams and complex operations effectively.
