Summary of Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, outline specifications, and value engineering for construction projects
  • Investigate design intent, applicable codes, agency requirements, and owner expectations to clearly define project scope
  • Prepare qualification statements to clarify unclear or incomplete project information
  • Support preconstruction efforts with accurate pricing and documentation
Qualifications
  • Experience as a Senior Estimator in one or more of the following markets: multifamily housing, commercial, and/or K–12 construction
Experience
  • Experience estimating commercial construction projects
  • Knowledge of current market pricing and unit pricing
  • Ability to lead, create, and complete full project estimates
  • Ability to research specified materials and identify acceptable alternatives as required
  • Ability to develop value engineering ideas and associated cost impacts
  • Ability to develop preliminary preconstruction schedules
  • Understanding of project staffing and general condition requirements
  • Strong relationships with owners and architects
  • Strong subcontractor relationships
  • Ability to complete detailed on-screen takeoffs
  • Ability to build qualified subcontractor bid lists and actively solicit bids
  • Experience analyzing subcontractor bids and scopes of work
  • Preparation of professional presentation documents
  • Ability to present cost information to clients in a professional manner
  • Ability to review, analyze, and correct estimates prepared by others
Compensation
  • $135,000 – $150,000 per year, dependent on experience
