Senior Mechanical Project Engineer
Location: Reading, PA 
Job Type: Direct Hire | 100% On-Site
Compensation: $99,750 – $136,500 per year + Bonus Eligibility + Paid Relocation

Position Overview
• Lead full lifecycle capital engineering projects from concept through start-up
• Design, upgrade, and install large-scale industrial machinery
• Serve as technical liaison between maintenance, production, and external contractors
• Drive reliability and long-term equipment performance in a high-demand manufacturing environment


Key Responsibilities
• Manage multiple capital projects simultaneously including scope, budgeting, scheduling, and execution
• Lead hydraulic and mechanical design for heavy industrial systems
• Review vendor drawings and proposals to ensure technical accuracy and safety compliance
• Oversee contractor activities during installation and commissioning
• Partner with controls engineers to ensure seamless system integration
• Provide senior-level troubleshooting support for complex mechanical issues
• Develop long-term solutions to enhance equipment stability and uptime
• Ensure all designs and installations meet industrial codes and safety standards


Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
• 10–15 years of heavy industrial manufacturing experience
• Direct experience with extrusion, rolling, forging, or similar heavy processes strongly preferred
• Expertise in machine design and heavy equipment installation
• Proficiency with AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of industrial project management principles
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-heat manufacturing environment


Preferred Experience
• Exposure to high-speed manufacturing systems or robotics
• Experience with cost control, scheduling, and Scope of Work (SOW) development
• Ability to mentor maintenance teams and communicate technical concepts across departments
