PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:
- Implements safe, competent and efficient patient care within policies, procedures and standards, and
intervention as noted in the plan of care
- Set priorities adapting to changing patient and department situations.
- Administers chemotherapy and biotherapy directly to patients, implement methods of symptom
treatment and monitor patient’s progress
- Performs assessment, monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions and report findings to physician as needed
- Teaches patient, family and/or other care provider critical knowledge and skills necessary to accomplish self care regimen and manage decision making of continuing care needs
- Maintains availability of emergency medications and supplies
- Ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment
- May participate in the development and review of policies and procedures
- Assists in resolving charge discrepancies as directed
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of accredited school of registered nursing
- Current Maryland (Compact) RN license
- Minimum one year Oncology experience
- Current ACLS and CPR certification required
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit a high degree of professionalism
- Current hospital approved Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certifications required
- Capable of performing position related physical requirements
