Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Engineering Manager to lead the development of innovative products and the enhancement of existing designs for the residential elevator market. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in mechanical engineering, product development, and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will inspire their team, collaborate across departments, and ensure that all designs meet the highest industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new products and improve existing designs to meet customer needs and market trends.
- Utilize and maintain 2D/3D CAD software (SolidWorks) to create technical data packages, including Bills of Materials (BOM) and manufacturing drawings.
- Analyze structural integrity and performance of designs, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Troubleshoot product performance issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Oversee design processes, ensuring adherence to best practices in Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFM/DFA).
- Stay informed on advancements in engineering technology and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and operations, to streamline processes and improve outcomes.
- Lead the prototyping and testing of new designs, leveraging expertise in machining, 3D printing, and material tolerancing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, including 2 years in a managerial role.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication, die casting, injection molding, and related manufacturing processes.
- Experience with prototyping, logic controllers, and data collection systems.
- Familiarity with coatings, plating, and finishing operations.
- Proven ability to lead projects from concept to completion with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
