Job Overview
- Work within the pilot plant supporting process development and scale-up activities
- Receive hands-on mentoring from senior engineers
- Support development of new processes and equipment for food, consumer, and chemical products
- Participate in trial runs and pilot-scale experimentation
- Support internal teams and external clients with technical execution
Key Responsibilities
- Perform computer-based process simulations
- Develop and optimize new chemical and manufacturing processes
- Set up and execute pilot plant experiments
- Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental and process data
- Specify new equipment for pilot and production environments
- Support trial runs and process validation activities
- Work with outside fabricators on equipment design and build
- Interface with internal stakeholders and external clients during development projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
- 1–5 years of experience, including co-op or internship experience
- Experience as a development engineer or process engineer preferred
- Demonstrated hands-on engineering experience
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple technical tasks
- Experience with process simulation tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong engineering fundamentals demonstrated through coursework, GPA, or technical projects
- Creative problem-solving ability and technical curiosity
- Experience with CAD software
- Exposure to PLCs, CFD, or process automation
- Experience designing equipment from concept through installation
- Familiarity with pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and related process equipment
Compensation
- $80,000 – $95,000 per year, commensurate with experience
- 10% performance-based bonus
