This role combines the traditional responsibilities of an HR Generalist—such as onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations—with the added responsibility of supporting UCA’s unemployment division by collaborating with clients on unemployment claims processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the onboarding and offboarding process for new and departing employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Develop, update, and maintain company HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate employee training and development programs to promote professional growth and support company initiatives.
  • Manage and track employee performance reviews, assisting managers with employee evaluations and performance improvement plans.
  • Maintain HR records and documentation, including employee files, benefit records, and compliance documentation, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

Unemployment Division Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to manage unemployment claims, offering guidance on best practices for reducing liability and improving cost control.
  • Prepare and review unemployment documentation and reports for clients, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Work with clients to develop strategies for handling unemployment insurance audits, hearings, and appeals.
  • Provide ongoing support and consultation to clients regarding unemployment laws and processes, acting as a subject matter expert.
  • Analyze unemployment data to identify trends and offer recommendations to clients for minimizing unemployment costs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR generalist role, with exposure to employee relations, benefits administration, and onboarding.
  • Knowledge of unemployment insurance laws and processes preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
