Senior Lean Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Lean Manufacturing Engineer to lead the identification and implementation of lean manufacturing best practices and continuous improvement projects across multiple U.S.-based manufacturing and fabrication facilities. This position plays a key leadership role in driving operational excellence, process efficiency, and sustainable growth across all production sites.
Our client is a leading manufacturer of engineered hydraulic products and custom fabrication solutions serving industries such as mining, mineral processing, directional drilling, steel, and oilfield operations.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of company-wide continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
Apply CI tools (Lean, Six Sigma, Process Mapping, 5-Why, RACI models, etc.) to identify and eliminate waste, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks.
Facilitate Kaizen events and provide hands-on training sessions to build CI capabilities across all manufacturing sites.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and site leaders to implement sustainable, measurable improvements.
Define, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure initiative effectiveness and support data-driven decisions.
Serve as project leader for capital improvement projects, including automation and process control upgrades.
Document, standardize, and share best practices across multiple plants.
Travel up to 25–30% to engage employees, assess operations, and drive improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering (or related technical field).
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Minimum 7 years of experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, or senior manufacturing engineering.
Deep knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles; Six Sigma certification preferred.
Proven success leading CI initiatives that achieved measurable performance improvements.
Experience in low-volume/high-mix manufacturing or custom fabrication environments.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to engage at all levels of an organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
Proficiency with ERP systems (QAD preferred) and CMMS platforms (MaintainX a plus).
Motivated, adaptable, and capable of building trust across teams to drive meaningful change.
Experience working in a fast-paced, private equity-backed growth environment is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range of $120,000 – $140,000 per year with annual bonus opportunity, full benefits, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation, and relocation assistance if needed.
