Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Human Resources will serve as a trusted business partner and key member of the leadership team at a large, fast-paced food manufacturing facility employing approximately 370 team members. This role is responsible for driving HR strategy, developing talent, and fostering a high-performance culture that aligns with company objectives. The successful candidate will be an experienced HR leader with strong plant-level experience, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic HR business partner to plant and operations leadership.
Lead a team of two HR professionals, providing mentorship, coaching, and performance management.
Drive employee engagement and organizational culture initiatives that align with business goals.
Partner with leaders on staffing strategies, workforce planning, and employee retention initiatives.
Oversee all aspects of talent acquisition, onboarding, and orientation for both salaried and hourly employees.
Manage employee relations, conduct investigations, and provide guidance to leadership on issue resolution.
Support performance management, training, and leadership development programs in collaboration with Corporate L&OD.
Ensure compliance with federal and California labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
Oversee compensation, benefits, and HRIS administration (Workday experience preferred).
Champion continuous improvement initiatives in HR processes and organizational effectiveness.
Develop and maintain strong relationships across departments to promote a cohesive and productive workplace.
Organize employee engagement and recognition events to reinforce company culture and morale.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field required.
10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
Manufacturing experience required; food manufacturing highly preferred.
Strong HRIS skills; Workday experience preferred.
In-depth knowledge of federal and California labor laws.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Skilled in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on driving cultural and operational excellence.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and partner across all levels of the organization.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $160,000 – $170,000 per year
Bonus: 10–15% annual target
