Role Overview
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing complex mechanical and electromechanical systems used in precision industrial machinery. This position requires hands-on design work and collaboration with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure quality, performance, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and model fabricated, cast, and machined components using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or Inventor).

  • Develop mechanical and electromechanical assemblies for precision industrial systems.

  • Apply core principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics to ensure performance and reliability.

  • Conduct tolerance analysis, interference checks, and structural simulations.

  • Support prototype builds, testing, and product validation.

  • Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECO/ECN) and documentation within PDM/ERP systems.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to optimize production and solve design challenges.

  • Participate in product development initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing complex mechanical systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong background in industrial machinery, capital equipment, or related heavy mechanical systems.

  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or Inventor) and PDM/PLM systems.

  • Experience with castings, weldments, sheet metal, and machined components.

  • Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and motion control systems preferred.

  • Working knowledge of ECO/ECN and BOM management processes.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%).
