Responsibilities:
- Prospect new sales opportunities with small and medium businesses (SMBs) applying lead generation sales methodologies.
- Meet or exceed assigned quotas.
- Promptly follow up with and qualify marketing-generated inquiries for our services.
- Research and target SMB’s via prospecting lists.
- Document all activities and interactions in CRM tool.
- Efficiently manage prospect pipeline to produce the maximum amount of results.
- Create and perform various outbound marketing campaigns around verticals, specific events, or targets in addition to ongoing primary lead generation activities.
- Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and social media.
- Conduct web research and navigate organizations to uncover appropriate contacts.
- Collaborate, coordinate, and align sales and marketing efforts with sales and marketing assistant.
- Heavy phone and e-mail prospecting in order to set qualified appointments; utilizing a conversational approach to uncover and qualify new business opportunities.
- Occasional in-person cold calling on targeted businesses.
Knowledge, Skills, & Requirements of the Business Development Manager:
- Previous business-to-business sales role, preferably in IT Managed Services or similar field.
- College degree preferred.
- Proven track record of quota attainment and revenue growth.
- Meet or exceed appointment quota through phone, social media, and email-based prospecting.
- Strong tele-qualifying, prospecting and marketing skills; ability to reach prospects creatively, identify decision makers, handle objections positively and professionally.
- Develop and execute on a strong prospecting plan of attack.
- Maintain CRM data, ability to share best practices, continually improve processes and provide clear and consistent reporting to management.
- Possesses entrepreneurial skills to handle daily sales activities.
- Exceptional negotiation skills, including ability to handle objections and close business.
- Must exhibit strong initiative and desire to achieve results and exceed expectations.
- A self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships quickly.
- Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills (listening, written and verbal).
- Must be highly collaborative and effective working with a wide array of team members’, customers, and partners.
- Strong attention to thoroughness and follow up.
- Must be able to prioritize/re-prioritize personnel and own tasks as needed, especially when dealing with time sensitive customer deadlines.
- Proficiency with CRM, quoting systems, and Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
