Medical Data Entry Clerks use a computer to enter and validate accurate patient demographics, physician data, tests requested, appropriate clinical information, and all other pertinent data found on imaged laboratory test request forms. All functions must be performed with confidence, accuracy and in a timely manner. This position is critical to quality for customer satisfaction.
Knowledge of medical terminology and medications
Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute with a high accuracy rate.
Ability to identify missing or incorrect information received from clients and work to resolve discrepancies.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
Ability to decipher various forms of handwriting.
Excellent skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Maintains composure while working under pressure.
Reflects good judgment at all times when determining what action to take when resolving problems.
Adheres to safety and compliance policies and procedures.
Must have to the ability learn and understand complex relationship between test(s) ordered and specimen(s) received.
Must be detail-minded with independent work habits
