Youth Care Specialist + $1,000 sign-on bonus

Job Summary:

As a Youth Care Specialist with Morgan Stephens you will play a vital role in the daily care, support, and mentorship of the youth we serve. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to create a nurturing and structured environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Direct Care and Supervision: Provide direct care and supervision to youth residents, ensuring their safety, well-being, and adherence to program guidelines.

  2. Mentoring and Role Modeling: Serve as a positive role model and mentor to youth by demonstrating respectful and responsible behavior.

  3. Daily Living Support: Assist youth in daily living activities, including meal preparation, hygiene routines, and recreational activities.

  4. Behavioral Support: Implement the agency's behavior management and intervention strategies as outlined in Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs).

  5. Crisis Intervention: Respond to and de-escalate crisis situations as necessary, following established protocols and procedures.

  6. Therapeutic Communication: Use effective therapeutic communication techniques based on the unique needs and developmental levels of each resident.

  7. Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident behavior, progress, and incidents.

  8. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, including counselors, therapists, and support staff, to create a cohesive and supportive team environment.

  9. Safety and Security: Ensure the security and safety of the facility by conducting regular checks and adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred).
  • Previous experience working with youth or special populations is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record (if required).
  • Must pass background checks and drug screenings.
