Bookkeeper - Job costing (Hybrid remote - must live in Virginia)

Job Summary: Hybrid remote after 90-days of performance. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with job costing experience to join our team. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing payroll, processing 1099 forms, assisting with basic HR functions, and performing various administrative tasks as necessary. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have a strong background in job costing, along with expertise in utilizing the latest version of QuickBooks Online that integrates with our CRM and other integrated systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, growing company with significant potential for professional growth. A CPA certification is not required for this role.

Salary: $72,000 + bonus/incentives

Responsibilities:

  • Manage payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees
  • Process and file 1099 forms for independent contractors in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Assist with basic HR functions, such as maintaining employee records, tracking time off, and onboarding new employees
  • Perform general bookkeeping duties, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial report generation
  • Utilize job costing techniques to accurately allocate costs to specific projects or jobs
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the latest version of QuickBooks Online
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure proper integration between QuickBooks Online and CRM, as well as other integrated systems
  • Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, with a focus on job costing analysis
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, specifically related to job costing and project profitability
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Support the management team with various administrative tasks as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role, with a specific emphasis on job costing
  • Strong proficiency in working with the latest version of QuickBooks Online
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and familiarity with payroll systems
  • Understanding of 1099 filing requirements
  • Basic HR knowledge and experience is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work with various software applications
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information
