JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a DEDICATED & DYNAMIC Crisis Specialist to join our CHAMPs team!!
The Crisis Specialist of the ChAMPS program (Children and Adolescent Mobile Psychiatric Service) provides mental health and behavioral crisis assessment and intervention services within the community. The position works with a partner and as member of a team of Crisis Specialists to provide rapid mobile response and crisis assessment and to assist with the stabilization or psychiatric hospitalization (when necessary) of children and adolescents ages 6-17, including youth up to age 21 when in the care and custody of DC Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA). ChAMPS is a 24-hour program staffed live in office Monday through Friday and on-call after hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
•MUST HAVE Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, nursing or related •Licensure in relevant discipline (LGSW, LICSW, LGPC or LPC) and MUST be licensed by the District of Columbia. Additional Maryland License preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with youth and families.
• Previous experience working in crisis intervention preferred.
