Loan Servicing Supervisor (Direct Hire)

The Loan Servicing Supervisor position is to assist the AVP of Loan Servicing by monitoring day to day operations and managing workflows and pipelines to achieve department goals. The person in this role is primarily responsible in supervising a team that supports the mortgage loan servicing functions. Also responsible for all functions regarding quality compliance and procedures as they pertain to operations and documentation. Ensures the financial objectives, strategic goals and institutional growth are met in accordance of bank’s policies and state and federal government regulations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the AVP Loan Servicing with department workflow by recommending necessary adjustments. Serve as the team lead /go to person for various department administrations on questions and issues.
  • Monitor performance of the team and manage the workflow of the department to ensure that service level and compliance are being maintained. Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single function or operational areas.
  • Develops/Implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on avoiding future occurrences.
  • Examine various operational challenges and apply appropriate solutions.
  • Research and resolve inquiries and ensure complaints are handled appropriately and in a timely manner including with coworkers. Identifies and escalates issues to AVP Loan Servicing when there is a potential for financial, credit, or reputational risk.
  • Complete a detail audit of documents received for servicing ensuring each file processed meet bank guidelines and is compliance with Federal and State laws.
  • Maintains knowledge of current Servicing Compliance Regulations to include: CFPB, Foreclosure, Loss Mitigation and Claims Procedures especially as it relates to HUD.
  • Proactively reviews and addresses compliance of regulatory and secondary market investor changes related to servicing. Assists with quality control audits and timely responses.
  • Participate in cross functional and department projects as necessary.
  • Review daily loan reports and distribute as needed.
  • Conducts daily monitoring of loan maintenance reports.
  • Train and develop staff.
  • Identify gaps and make recommendations for efficiency gains.
  • Maintain and demonstrate proficiency with loan software applications. Work with system providers to utilize applications to fullest capacity, streamlining processes and procedures.
  • Analyze, prepare and train for periodic updates to system software and verify enhancements are working correctly.
  • Examine various operational challenges and apply appropriate solutions.
  • Able to work closely with loan officers and department managers to promote communication and to ensure quality service.
  • Other projects and/or duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in loan servicing required.
  • 3+ years of management/supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to lead others effectively.
  • Thorough working knowledge of loan servicing requirements for investors, regulatory and agency requirements.
  • Firm comprehension of loan servicing guidelines, procedures, restrictions reporting requirements, etc.
  • Familiarity with servicing software and electronic reporting processes.
  • Must be self-directed, motivated, and comfortable working in an extremely fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to make complex decisions regarding a variety of financial activities.
  • Detailed oriented, high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to deal effectively with external corporate executives and senior management.
  • Strong organizational skills are a must with ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in decision making
  • In-depth knowledge of all mortgage products and services, policies, and procedures and related regulations including reporting and Audit requirements.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, management, communication (both written and oral), analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Microsoft Office Applications proficiency is required (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
