We are searching for healthcare professionals like you!  The Health Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development, communication and compliance monitoring of policies and procedures. The Health Quality Improvement Specialist will conduct file audits at program sites, coordinate QI meetings, assist in licensure preparation, and act as programmatic support regarding incident management, quality of care outcomes, and regulatory compliance. The position receives general supervision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts clinical case reviews
Provides comprehensive written assessments and recommendations based on the clinical review of quality of care concerns and complaints
Plans and conducts qualitative evaluations of QI activities to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures
Reviews clinical and non-clinical programs for efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with State and/or Federal regulations
Consults on quality issues and develops solutions
Develops and disseminates information on new technologies, service delivery models, improved practices and research findings
Assess training needs and develop and present training programs for providers and staff members
Requires depth within a specialized, critical discipline and/or breadth of substantive professional knowledge that crosses disciplines within the professional field
Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services
May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk and /or complexity
Leads others to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions
Impacts the achievement of customer, operational, project or service objectives; work is guided by functional policies
Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view

REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or found by the Board to be substantially equivalent to the programs in Washington. Current RN or LPN licensure is required. Three years experience in Performance Improvement and a comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and accrediting agencies is preferred. Computer skills, knowledge of research and statistical methods are necessary. The Associate must have excellent writing skills and knowledge of correct business English; strong organization skills, ability to perform multiple tasks with interruptions and manage time effectively to achieve simultaneous goals. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with physicians, hospital personnel and external agencies, both verbally and in writing. Must have strong problem-solving skills, demonstrated by effective problem identification and problem-solving. Must have experience with automated databases to include Word and Excel. Demonstrates a commitment to group goals and teamwork.
